DAIS — Distributed Awareness & Intelligence System

DAIS is the invisible layer that lets PGC-01, Mini & Junior, your phone, and the Guardian Dock work together as one calm, protective system — without cameras, without surveillance, and without giving up your data.

What DAIS actually does

DAIS (Distributed Awareness & Intelligence System) is the nervous system of ManChine's Guardian Intelligence stack. It runs quietly in the background, stitching together signals from:

  • PGC-01 — audio, motion (IMU), and proximity sensing from your camera-less glasses
  • Mini & Junior — age-aware guardian signals for kids and teens
  • Your phone — location context, connectivity, and heavier AI models
  • Guardian Dock — nightly learning, updates, and safe offline processing

Instead of sending everything to the cloud, DAIS keeps intelligence as close to you as possible: on the glasses, on the phone, and on the dock — with the GI Constitution as its rulebook.

1. Edge · PGC-01 & Mini

The glasses and kid devices run the fastest safety checks: audio events, motion and fall detection, proximity alerts, breathing rhythm shifts, and simple "Is something wrong right now?" questions. This layer is always-on, battery-aware, and fully camera-less.

2. Fusion · DAIS Core

DAIS Core combines these signals with context from your phone — where you are, who you're with, what time it is, and your usual rhythm. It uses confidence scoring to decide when to stay silent, when to nudge, and when to speak clearly.

3. Deep Learning · Guardian Dock

At home or at night, the Guardian Dock takes anonymized, locally stored patterns and refines the on-device models. No raw audio or movement data needs to leave your ecosystem. Updates flow back into PGC-01, Mini, and RiCo as quiet improvements.

Signals DAIS listens to — without ever watching you

DAIS is built for a world where cameras are optional. It focuses on a smaller, safer set of senses that still deliver real protection:

Acoustic awareness

Gunshots, screams, breaking glass, sirens, engines, aggressive shouting, and music tempo — all processed as patterns, not as recordings to be stored or shared.

Motion & posture

Falls, stumbles, tremors, head turns, sway and gait changes — the way your body moves when you're calm, tired, stressed, or in sudden danger.

Proximity & spacing

How close someone or something gets to you, how fast it's approaching, and whether that matches your normal environment or feels like an intrusion.

Rhythm & internal state

Breathing pace, micro-pauses in speech, and walking cadence, fused with RhythmSense to understand when to suggest calm, not more information.

Confidence first. Calm always.

DAIS never guesses loudly. Every potential alert is scored across multiple modalities before it reaches you.

  • Low confidence — stays silent, keeps listening, keeps learning.
  • Medium confidence — gentle awareness pulse; you decide whether to act.
  • High confidence — clear, calm directional guidance from RiCo.

This keeps PGC-01 and Mini from becoming anxious devices. They remain what they are meant to be: quiet guardians that only speak when it truly matters.

DAIS runs under the GI Constitution

DAIS is not just an engineering diagram — it is bound by the Guardian Intelligence Constitution v2.0. That means:

  • No covert recording. No selling of personal data. No surprise "updates" that add surveillance.
  • Local-first processing wherever possible, with clear consent for anything beyond.
  • Human override and human sovereignty at the center of every guardian decision.

As ManChine grows, DAIS is the layer that keeps the system smart — and the Constitution is the layer that keeps it honest.

DAIS roadmap for PGC-01 and beyond

DAIS will ship in phases alongside PGC-01 and the wider Guardian family:

  • Phase 1 · PGC-01 Beta — core safety sensing, basic fusion, and calm alerts.
  • Phase 2 · Family Mesh — Mini & Junior devices join, enabling family-wide awareness.
  • Phase 3 · iGate Haiti pilots — field deployments in Haitian communities, testing DAIS in high-variance environments.
  • Phase 4 · Global Guardian Network — expanded language, context, and cultural models across new regions.
